The First Two Stages of Home Appliance Mold's Development

As most parts and components of household electrical appliances are produced by molds, their appearance, shape, and structure reflect the complexity of molds. The change of household appliance products depends on the research and development and manufacturing level of household appliance molds.


Mold is the core of the technological revolution in each stage. It has achieved the flyby between the four steps. Therefore, the development of home appliance mold technology has always been around meeting the needs of users. It constantly breaks through the confinement of technology and concepts and promotes the development of the home appliance industry.


Ⅰ. The first stage of home appliance mold


It represents the primary stage of the development of the household appliance industry, and Chinese injection molding manufacturers mainly rely on imports. Due to the limitation of mold design and manufacturing level, the appearance of home appliances is primarily flat and rounded, which is convenient for creating product structure, design, and manufacturing of mold.


At that time, there was a huge gap between the technical level of the mold industry and that compared with foreign developed countries. Chinese die and mould enterprises mainly use manual drawing. Due to the industry technical information occlusion, it is difficult for technicians to obtain high-level die and mould technical information. Chinese die and mould enterprises mainly use standard machine tools such as turning to mill, planing, and grinding to process die and mould parts, which is poor precision and low efficiency.


The highest degree of automation equipment is mainly fast wire cutting and EDM machine tools, which have weak manufacturing capacity for complex die parts. Therefore, the appearance of home appliances on the market is basically unchanged.


Ⅱ. The second stage of home appliance mold


It is driven by computer-aided technology and numerical control machining technology software and hardware replacement to solve the difficult problems of complex surface and deep cavity mold development.


Due to the increased output of household appliances, users' aesthetic demand for the appearance of home appliances is getting higher and higher. The products with curved surface modeling and deep cavity design are favored by consumers.


The upgrading demand of the household appliance industry has put forward new requirements for household appliance mould technology. Under the historical opportunity of reform and opening, Chinese appliance mold enterprises have more and more opportunities to communicate with enterprises from developed countries and regions. Advanced die technology and management concepts are introduced, absorbed, and transformed to form Chinese die enterprises' core technology competitiveness and management mode.
