What Is a mold

All kinds of tools and products we use in our daily production and life, ranging from the base of machine tool and the shell of fuselage to the shell of a head screw, button and various household appliances, are closely related to mold.

The shape of 2K mold determines the shape of these products, and the processing quality and precision of the mold also determine the quality of these products. Due to the different materials, appearance, specifications and uses of various products, the mold is divided into casting mold, forging mold, die casting mold, stamping mold and injection mold.

General definition of mould: in industrial production, parts or products made of metal or non-metal materials are pressed with various pressing tools and special tools installed on the presses. This special tool is generally called mould.

A set of 2K injection mold is composed of many parts. The quality of the parts directly affects the quality of the injection mold, and the final quality of the parts is guaranteed by the finish machining, so it is important to control the finish machining. In most of the domestic mold manufacturing enterprises, the methods used in the finishing stage are generally grinding, EDM and benchwork processing. In this stage, many technical parameters, such as deformation, internal stress, shape tolerance and dimensional accuracy, should be controlled well. In the specific production practice, the operation is more difficult.

According to the different appearances and shapes of the parts, the processing of mold parts can be roughly divided into three categories: plate, special-shaped parts and shaft. The common process is roughly: rough machining, heat treatment, fine grinding, electrical machining, fitter (surface treatment), assembly processing.
